What is a DUI?
July 15, 2016
“Driving Under the Influence” is defined as operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol or other drugs, such as marijuana. In Illinois, a driver is considered to be “under the influence” if he/she has a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more. Levels as low as .05 can be used to convict drivers if additional evidence shows impairment.
DUI Situations
Depending on the driving history, drivers convicted of a DUI may have their license suspended or revoked.
In most cases, state mandated insurance, SR-22, is required for a period of 3 years.
